Beyond Dreaming
for Success

Beyond Dreaming for Success is a unique 40-week program built on the belief that everyone is born with unique gifts, this innovative program aims to uncover and nurture the strengths of young people and empower them to leverage these abilities to shape their futures and careers.

Utilising a Design Thinking approach rooted in an Aboriginal cultural framework, program mentors guide each young person in exploring diverse ways to use their talents, thoroughly test some of these options, and tailor a plan to harness their abilities in shaping their life and future.

This visionary program is fundamentally designed to tackle the critical challenges of individual mindset, behaviour, and institutional barriers that have historically impeded the aspirations and progress of Aboriginal young people. Grounded in a trauma-informed and culturally safe approach, the program offers an opportunity to break down personal obstacles and forge pathways to success. Through steadfast commitment and support, the Beyond Dreaming for Success program aims to empower our young people to realise their full potential by unlocking their imaginations and harnessing their innate skills and talents.

PHASE ONE

Engage

Beyond Dreaming for Success is not a quick fix, nor a silver bullet solution.  However, we believe that by bringing together families, communities and other service providers, this program can facilitate a holistic, wrap-around network to nurture each young person and guide them on their journey.

  • Engage young people

  • Engage Families

  • Engage Community

  • Engage other Stakeholders

Importantly, Beyond Dreaming for Success is not a set-and-forget, nor a single, one-off program.  Whilst all engagement in the program has benefits; to draw the most impactful outcomes from the program, young people should start as young as possible and engage in the program each year until such time as they can confidently navigate their schooling and their obligations to family and community in the context of their ambitions and life aspirations.

As young people progress through the program, and its re-iterations over the years, the details of the content and mechanics of the processes may vary to meet their specific needs at that time.  However, at heart, the participant uses their individualised blueprint to further raise their expectations and ambitions, further develop their personal gifts, enhance their interpersonal skills, and more confidently and assertively pursue their goals.

Beyond Dreaming is a not-for-profit organisation, supported by Penangke Cultural Consultants and a strong network of partnerships with Aboriginal-led organisations who share our dedication to empowering Indigenous youth and driving positive change in their communities.
